Anime Super-View: Ga-Rei Zero

w00t! I get to write this whole anime review. Superfantastic.

To say that this anime is is packed with story is like saying hoarders houses are packed with crap.( I’ve been watching Horders lately. Evil show.) this anime is incredibly story driven and to top it all off, this anime is a prequel to a manga. It’s filled to the metaphorical brim with story and chrs. The whole anime is a backstory for one chr and organization. Now, for this Super-View I’ll be going in depth with the chrs and my ideas will be spastic and misordered so please forgive me.

Ga Rei Zero is a prequel to the manga Ga Rei. The main chrs and story are

Kagura Tsuchimiya: A not so normal high school student who has carries the trading of harboring the Spirit Beast: Ga-Rei Byakuei. ( dosent get until end of GRZ) It’s like a dragon thing. She is shy and social awkward at first, having nearly no friends for her whole life. Her father made her train for her whole life. Talk about strict parenting. She begins to open up when she meets,

Yomi Isayama: An adopted child of a friend of the clan Kagura’s family belongs too. She Is a child prodigy who befriends Kagura. They become almost like sisters. Until her “father” is killed by the daugher of the second in command of Kagura’s clan, May. Yomi confronts May and kills her. She is then wounded by,

Kazuhiro Mitogawa: main antagonist. He is a child who possess a sesshōseki. Let’s call it a soul stone. Long story short, he was in the agency (tell u later) and was fascinated by soul stones. He went to the Vatican with his mom to research and meet someone. Bada bing bada boom, he has one instead of an eye and butterfly insect powers. While Yomi is in the hospital, Kagura visits but then leaves after not believing her “sister” would pull though. Yomi is shocked and this kid shows up. He temps yomi with the power of the soul stone and she accepts. Yomi is now the villain and goes after everyone within the agency with the intent to kill.

Alright now for
The Agency: a gov agency that is tasked with the removle and hushing up of rouge spirits.
Yomi and Kagura are a part of this agency.

Story
Do. Not. Skip. Episodes.
Every ep is packed with story and you will need to listen and digest every bite of it. The story itself is very nice and very well done for a prequel. I’m dawning ba k to that fact because my standard of prequels are shotty, masking taped, and cheap ting with plot holes made to tie up stories. Think Star Wars 1 - 3. They do an nice job of making the story connect together. Small pieces of the puzzle show up when you don’t expect them. Here’s the start of the anime. In the beginning of the story, the first ep is a spec ops team disposing of a spirit, only to be obliterated by Yomi in the end. The second is the remaing members of the agency, including Kagura, searching for Yomi. The remmander of the anime, not counting the last 3 ep’s are the backstory leading back up to the preasent time we saw at the start.

Chrs
All chrs are lively. They have conflicting emotions, clear flaws and disadvantages they must overcome, and I must say they are believable a hell. The chrs don’t sound stale and they actually have “fluid personalitys”. No bad thing here. They really great chr development and you can really see their evolution.

Finnal Rating
5/5

Story 5/5
Chrs 5/5

+ Great chrs, amazing story, fluid chr development, and amazing prequel.

I recommend this to anyone who wants to see a great story pm but has some time on their hands. It’s got action drama, and some humor. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to watch more Baka & Test.

Thanks

Anime Review: Murder Princess

Long time no see. So review time.

Murder Princess is a 6 ep action anime. Here’s the short of it, a princess’s castle is attacked. She escapes though the forest and meets a bounty hunter. They fall off a cliff and swap souls. Don’t ask me how, idk. Ok, so the princess and the bounty hunter make a deal that the BH has to protect the kingdom and the princess has to serve her. That’s a really short and non detailed summry.

Story

This has an ok story. It’s not horrid but it’s not the greatest. It sometimes cam be predictable. Example: SPOILER SPOILER, two robots show up in the first ep. This hints that this medieval world is eather in the past of future. Then later in the series, they go though a whole 3 mins to explain that their once was a time of robots and super mecha. (btw no mecha in this series.) this doesn’t hinder the experience but I just wanted to point that out.

Their isn’t a shortage of twist. However they are sometimes predicable and/or can be anticlimactic.

Chrs

The chrs are fun and complex. I say this because of the secrets. These chrs have something hidden that is common to them and the chrs around them that we don’t know or don’t figure out until later in the series. They has emotions too. They aren’t bland but they certainly don’t over exaggerate. This helps maintain the tone of the anime. Action. No chr is there for no reason. I mean of corse comedic effect. All chrs have a purpose.

Action

Intense? Maybe. Boring? Certainly not. The action moments won’t keep you on the edge of your seat, vbut they certainly won’t bore you. They aren’t bad, but they don’t thrill you as much as more violent action pack animes.

Finnal Rating
3.5/5

Story 4/5
Chrs 4/5
Action 3.7/5

+ action is great
-+ predictable story
+ good chrs

I recommend this for anyone who wants a good dose of action in their anime life’s. It’s short, it’s not bad and you’ll have fond memories remembering it.

Thanks for reading
